I Am Grateful

Gratitude changes everything

Sure, I know we just got through the whole Thanksgiving weekend but why not throw out the gratitude “I Am” right now and keep this gravy train rolling…(haha, see what I did there?) For those of you who don’t really understand this concept, let me be frank: Gratitude fucking owns everything in your life that is good. From your body, to your family, to your friends or those you call your framily, to your experiences in the past and for those in the future, along with the material things you things you currently have and the material things you will get in your future.

The ability to look at everything from a perspective of gratitude helps put all things INTO perspective. Let’s take a look at some of these things so throughout the rest of your week, you have nothing but gratitude and appreciation of what the Universe provides.

Your Body

I’ve said this before, and I’ll say it a million more times…you are this incredible Universe all inside of yourself. You’re made of the same stuff the stars are made of. There are so many brilliant things about your body that does all kinds of stuff that you don’t have to remember to do, to be grateful for. You don’t have to remember to beat your heart, or take air into your lungs, or divide and grow all your gazillion cells. Every day that you wake up and are able to take a shit in a toilet (thank you, Universe, for a perfect body that heals itself), drink clean water, have a cup of coffee, have food to eat, have eyes to see and ears to hear, and have a place to sleep in, yo, your life is pretty much on point.

Think about this for a minute. REALLY THINK ABOUT THIS FOR A MINUTE. There are so many people in this world who aren’t doing as well as you, but for some, life couldn’t be better. They’re happy with the things they DO have and celebrate those things. When you get to wake up every morning and have the chance to start a new day, a chance to live another moment and be IN that moment, and are grateful as hell for it, you will experience more and more things in your day to be grateful for. Please honor your body. Honor your body’s ability to run, to walk, to lift, to hear, to see, to create, to eat. Your body is magical and so are you.

Your Family

Whether think you have the shittiest family in the world or the most loving, caring family in the world, whichever end of the spectrum and all that falls in between, you chose them, whether you believe that or not, and you did so for a reason. One day, you’ll look back on your life and realize whether you had it hard, or whether you had it easy, there was a reason you needed to be where you were and experience all the things you experienced with your family.

Your Experiences

Even on your worst days, you can choose to have the things that seem to not be going well, actually be the things you needed to get you out of your complacent state of being. Everything we go through in life, we attract to us. If you’re not happy with where you are, you have all the ability and power to turn things around in this very moment. This ability is not dependant on ANYONE else. It is all you.

When we honor the experiences we have, good or bad, and are grateful for them, and choose to see the lessons in all of it, a shift happens in your energy. When you choose joy over sadness, and love over fear, acceptance over judgment (this applies to yourself and others), then you are creating a foundation of self-worth and endless possibilities.

I’ll be honest, I’m not sure if this post is rambling because I can’t seem to gather my thoughts as clearly as I would like to, or maybe it’s perfect. I don’t know. What I DO know, is that I’m grateful for you. I’m grateful for your intention to learn and grow. I’m grateful for your openness to my vulnerability. I’m grateful that you want something better in your life and that you want to feel good, because if you didn’t, you probably wouldn’t be reading this.

Tell me something you’re grateful for. Or multiple things.
