Cultivating Self-Love/Self-Care Daily
Hope you all had a fabulous weekend. Between the Grammys and the historic rainfall we're getting this week, Los Angeles has been a buzz. And I love all of it. I also hope you all took some time to write a love list of your badassery over the past few days. And if you haven't yet, I hope you do. As we continue our journey to inner happiness, I want you to remember that self-love/self-care can take on so many forms and can have such transformative components.
If you're struggling on where to start, here are some ideas that have had huge impacts on me.
- Journaling - I know I say this a lot but keeping a daily gratitude journal has had such an enormous impact on my life. It's pretty hard to be mad or sad when you live in a state of gratitude. Gratitude is like a magic pill of awesome. Whenever I start to get bummed, I flip this switch in my head and start saying thank you for all the wonderful things are amazing. And it never fails that the Universe brings more magic to feel grateful for.
- Sleep - I know so many people who take sleep for granted. Sleep is such an important healing factor in our bodies. I have been making it a point to get as much sleep as I can lately. I feel the benefits of going to bed earlier and getting up earlier in terms of my thought processes throughout the day and my productivity.
- Meditation - When I take time to meditate, I call that self-love and self-care. This is a chance for me to get into my spiritual space and listen to guidance from the infinite love that surrounds me. I do not feel right in my life when I am not getting in that space.
I have other things I do to show love to myself, like working out, dancing, playing music, putting on a face mask, or hell, even cleaning my apartment. Like I said, self-love and self-care can take on many forms. No matter what form yours takes, the important thing is that you are doing SOMETHING beautiful for you that makes you feel good, makes you feel loved, and makes you feel inspired. I hope you schedule some time for YOU, just a little bit every day, to cultivate all your beauty.
I'm wishing you the best week this week. If no one has told you this, I am proud of you.
