Inspired Action
I know this week has been a weird week for us all. In the sense that some are celebrating. Some are grieving. And quite frankly, I don't really know how I feel about anything. I will say this. I refuse to live my life in fear. I have chosen to turn the outside world of media out. I will not partake in anything that hurts my peace any longer. From anything or anyone.
If you are celebrating, congratulations. This note is still for you. Reason being, we ALL experience disappointment. I had a break down, sobbing, ugly cry this week and just let it out and then, I actually felt a little better afterwards. You wanna know what caused the breakdown? Something so dumb: A damn video of Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift. Needless to say I had been suppressing some deep emotions that finally worked their way out.
I am a firm believer in acknowledging your hurt and disappointment and then moving on. What can we create today, in this moment, that brings us joy? What do you love? Get outside, go on a walk. Watch The Voice, that always makes me happy. Do whatever you need to do to FEEL joy. Vibe high. No one is keeping you from doing that right now. You CAN choose thoughts that make you feel alive. You CAN choose things that make you feel love.
Here are some things YOU can do, starting RIGHT now, that will shape the next few months leading you into an amazing year.
1. Change Your Mind - Do this by creating a morning routine. Live your future self now. I have a great post on this. Just go here. Be sure to get fresh air and make a to-do list. Read or listen to books and podcasts that promote growth and a healthy mindset. Talk to a coach. Learn something new you've been putting off. Focus on anything growth oriented.
2. Find Your Purpose - Seriously answer these questions - What makes you feel alive? What makes you feel happy? What are you passionate about and what makes you feel fulfilled? What do you KNOW you're good at? Find it and commit to doing things every day that support that.
3. Prioritize Your Health - Get out and MOVE. Get fresh air, drink your water and get quality sleep. My mood, sleep and clarity have drastically changed since I have cut out alcohol. Learn what works for YOU to feel good in YOUR body.
4. Analyze the People in your Life - Choose friendships and partners that uplift you and help you reach your highest potential. Clean up your space. (I have a chair full of clothes I need to go pick up in my room…doing that as soon as I finish writing this.) Having a clear space does wonders for your creativity. Unfollow people on social media who trigger you or make you feel less than. When I did this, I was able to make huge improvements on my self-esteem and my growth.
It's honestly really easy to let the outside world go when you focus on your inside and YOUR own growth. You'll find protecting your peace at all costs and focusing on better things will actually make things GET better. Hell, I'm a coach. Reach out. Let's talk. You've got the magic, so start using it.
Well said, Lindsay. I feel like if I do my best to be a good person and you do your best and everyone else in our broad circle does their best, we’ll be OK.
