The Revision of Life

Happy Friday!
Since I've been home, I have been hard at work on edits and revisions for my upcoming book, The Girl Who Cried Love: A Pivot to Self-Worth, slated to be released in September. I've been sending chapters to some of my closest friends to get eyes on it, and they have been giving me feedback on what they'd like to see me dive into a bit more.
This really made me think about life. And how we're always revising. When I was discussing the subtitle of my new book with my publishing company, we had been dwindling down ideas which were around ten. When I finally, after weeks of deliberation, decided on “A Pivot to Self-Worth,” my amazing agent, Bob, said he felt “The Pivot to Self-Worth” would be better. After careful consideration from the pro, I sent him an email letting him know I would be sticking with mine. Here was my logic:
There is no finality with pivoting. It's not like we just wake up one day and magically, all of our insecurities disappear, and we've reached our peak of loving ourselves. We are constantly pivoting our thoughts, our actions, our choices. We are in a constant state of revising our lives, just as I have been revising what I need to in order to share my experiences with you in the most authentic way I can. When I explained this, he agreed that I should go with my gut.
While we can't go back and re-write our pasts, we can move forward with the new-found wisdom we have gained and re-write our futures, beginning this moment. There is always a silver lining in all we go though, especially in our quiet battles no one knows are taking place.
Today is the first day of summer. It's a new beginning. There is nothing better than a brand new season to begin to live a life you're proud of. I pray for peace in your soul, love in your hearts, and a quiet strength for you to rise above any chaos that may try to rattle you. You've got this!
Until next week, I love you.
