When the Anxiety Hits
Happy Friday!
I hope you've had a great week. I wanted to have some real talk about anxiety because I always love to dive into what I am currently struggling with. Good times. This week, I've been feeling a little off. I don't know if it's the full moon, if it's the lunar eclipse, if it's all these planets in retrograde, if I'm being guided, or if it's the million things I'm doing, or what, but I've been a bit on edge emotionally, physically, and mentally. And even though I've been dealing with it in a healthy manner, it's still there. And it's kind of annoying. (Please pass when this moon is over.)
And I'm not the only one feeling this energy either. Many of my friends are in the same boat as I am. But in my conversations, we have reeled it in a bit, understanding that with purpose comes responsibility. And that can get heavy sometimes. Having lofty goals comes with tons of ups and downs. It comes with so many things to do, and with that, the discipline must come from within us in order to move toward the things we want the most.
Anxiety is basically fear in a nutshell. It doesn't have to be a bad or negative thing. It can actually help lead us into some areas we don't necessarily like to look at. What are we afraid of? It can help lead us to our truth. It can help us grow. If we use it as something that guides us, it can ultimately be our friend.
I also know it's important to do the things that keep us grounded during these moments because everything is going to be okay. Despite some of these uneasy feelings that come and go, at the end of the day, I have a faith that continually gets stronger. There is a calm, regardless of my human “feelings.” If I didn't meditate, I would be like a raccoon in a grocery store. (I don't even know what that means, but it sounded messy in my head.) But for real, it does the mind WONDERS.
I guess what I'm saying is to take it easy. Breathe. Breathing through these feelings and walking forward anyway is the foundation of resilience. We are so much more capable and stronger than we often give ourselves credit for. So, I want to give you a little ray of sunshine over here, letting you know I'm rooting for you, anxiety or no anxiety. Just like the moon, this will cycle through as well. I promise. Equal part dark and equal part daylight. I'm grateful we're moving into sunnier days ahead.
If you're feeling overwhelmed, do something for you. Go get a massage, take a nap, burn some sage, read a book that makes you feel good, go for a walk, journal, or whatever it is that makes you feel centered. You got this. And so do I. I hope you have a brilliant weekend!
